Between Avington and Ovington in Hampshire is one of the most beautiful walks I know.
Here, the river Itchen and the watercress beds it feeds, create a scene of such poetic elegance that I find it hard to describe with anything other than pictures.
The last time I visited, early summer 2021, I happened to wake just after dawn, look out the window of our B&B and the scene was breathtaking! A gentle mist filtered the dawn light onto the heavy dew left by the cool night before.
The colours and stillness were simply beautiful so I grabbed my camera, a couple of lenses and walked down to the river.
Theses are some of the pictures from the most perfect of pre-breakfast photowalks!
